ACE Fluid Head
With its payload range of 0 to 4 kilograms (0 to 8.8 lbs), Ace is the ideal camera support for smaller HDV camcorders and DSLR cameras. The 5-step counterbalance (+0) makes fast counterbalancing of the camera set-up easy. With 3 vertical and 3 horizontal grades of drag (+0), the new patented SA dragTM enables fine adjustment for precise panning and tilting. The new Sachtler Ace fluid head has a tilt range of +90° to -75°. For Ace, a glass fiber reinforced composite material was chosen, which makes the new 75mm fluid head especially light and offers a comfortable and non-slip surface feel.
Ace is delivered with the Ace plate. It comes with a 1/4” screw and pin. Spare camera screws (1/4” and 3/8”) are stored in the balance plate.

Tripod systems
Is it possible to buy the sachtler ace head by itself. As i wanted single stage carbon fibre legs for portability.
Is the Sachtler Pan Bar included with the head or does it have to be purchased separately?
Is there any difference/benefits in mid level spreaders to floor level spreaders??Considering purchasing this tripod in the next week or so for DSLR film work. What you think guys? good choice??RegardsGar
The floor/ground-spreader is ideal when shooting on flat surfaces, such as indoors or in a studio environment. In conjunction with the two-stage tripod leg design the floor-spreader will allow the tripod to go down to really low level shooting angles. Ground spreaders can offer slightly more stability due to more points of contact with the floor but they will have their limitations when used on uneven ground.
How its performed with EX1 ?any pic.? vid? review. Is it possible to order it with grown level spreader?
This item works perfectly with Sony EX1. This camera weighs 2.8KGS (excluding accessories) and the Sachtler ACE maximum payload is up to 4.0KGS with 5 step counterbalance mode.
