Due to the expansion of our on-line website we need an additional person to help manage our on-line product portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete and accurate listing of new product lines, regular checking & maintenance of existing product lines as well as quality control and reporting of technical issues to the web development / management team.

Excellent literacy, numeracy and organisational skills are essential.  Intermediate level abilities with Adobe Photoshop combined with a talent for graphic design is a distinct advantage.

This is a full time position and you will be based at our premises in Studley, Warwickshire.

Salary will be according to experience and ability.

Since we also develop web sites for other organisations the position may to encompass involvement beyond just our company.

Project Engineer

The Role

An exciting opportunity for a talented Project Engineer has arisen to work within CVP’s growing Systems Integration team. Reporting to the Head of Systems Integration, in this new role you will be responsible for the off-site and on-site assembly, commissioning and test of broadcast systems for CVP Group and its customers.

Working with the Project Manager from the post-design stage through to hand-over to the customer, this is ideal for an experienced engineer to move into a projects role.

You will use your excellent up to date knowledge of broadcast products to provide technical expertise to both the sales team and assist the proposals specialists in designing systems.

Location

Based at our Systems Integration pre-fabrication area in Brentford, West London, and working from our Studley Head Office (near Birmingham) when required. More importantly, working at our UK customers premises nationally – short periods staying away from home are inevitable.

Core Skills

Supervisory– sub contract wiremen and occasionally sub contract engineers are used for many of our contracts. Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be expected to assist with the off-site and on-site supervision and control of these additional resources

Product Knowledge – Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of core Broadcast products such as cameras, Vision Mixers, Studio Playout, Comms Systems, transmission equipment etc. and the common video, audio and control formats such as HDSDI, AES, Compression & DVB etc. Experience in post production environments including Avid, FCP, Adobe suite, Unity/ISIS or other common storage products, Media Asset Management, transcoding, compression, & other workflow products would be a considerable advantage.

Technical – able to carry out System Commissioning and Testing, Equipment configuration and setup, wiring integrity and System Path Tests.

Communication Skills – communicate regularly with the rest of the Systems Team regarding workload, scheduling, standards. Excellent customer communication skills are essential to project a professional image on behalf of CVP at all times.

Commercial Awareness – work closely with the rest of the Systems Team to meet or exceed budgets and deadlines and aim for total customer satisfaction. Recognise when the customer is seeking additional work outside the agreed contract.

Wiring–some experience in wiring the common cable types as used in broadcast and IT installations would be useful though not essential.

Documentation –Able to create, modify and update Autocad schematics from CVP templates along with Cable Schedules, equipment layouts and run sheets.

Logistics – order materials and hardware required for each project.

Experience& Qualifications

  • Several years experience in an engineering capacity in a Broadcast environment.
  • NVQ or above in an industry relevant technical qualification.
